CINCINNATI - Senior midfielder Andrew Boisvert's two-goal performance over the weekend for the Xavier men's soccer team landed him a spot on the College Soccer News' and TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week.
It's the first national or conference recognition for Boisvert, who scored his first- and second-career goals in back-to-back wins for the Musketeers.
In Friday's win over Richmond, Boisvert cracked his first netter, punishing a left-footed shot and giving Xavier a safe 2-0 margin in the 80th minute. On Sunday against George Washington he finished a long pass for the game-winning goal in the 21st minute. Fittingly enough the goal came on Senior Day.
The senior has played in the last 33 matches, which has yielded a record 18-9-6 for Xavier. His contributions to the defensive midfield off the bench have been invaluable to the Musketeers over the last two years.
He has three-career assists to along with his two goals.
