CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer goalkeeper, sophomore Justin Marshall, was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, for the week ending Oct. 10. It is the first national award for the emerging star.
Marshall earned the nod after leading the Musketeers to a 2-1-0 record on the week. Marshall shutout out IUPUI on the road, which include a game-saving save on a penalty kick in the 83rd minute, and posted a new Xavier single-season shutout record Sunday against Rhode Island. He allowed just two goals in 277 minutes of action.
For the week, the Prattville, Ala. native stopped 11 shots on goals, while facing 47 total shots.
Marshall leads the Musketeers into action this weekend against St. Joseph's Friday and Temple Sunday.
