A first half header in the 11th minute helped the No. 4 Creighton Bluejays defeat the Xavier men's soccer team, 2-0, in BIG EAST play on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Eric Miller's header off a Zach Barnes pass just 11:15 into the first half proved to be the game-winner and put Creighton up 1-0 early in the match. Christian Blandon added to the Jays lead as he scored his first goal of the season with a shot from 20 yards out at the 50:29 mark of the second half.

XU was out shot on the night 15-5 and lost the corner kick battle 6-1.

On the year, the Blue and White have netted 11 goals, allowing 13 scores with a 1.18 goals-against average. XU has been led offensively this season with three goals and five assists from senior Matt Walker (Batavia, Ohio/Batavia). The Blue Demons had their five-game unbeaten streak snapped last Saturday with a 2-0 loss at No. 16/17 Butler.
