Men's Soccer Suffers Shutout Loss

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. --- The Xavier men’s soccer team suffered its third consecutive shutout loss, falling 2-0 to Western Kentucky on Friday.

The Hilltoppers (1-1) scored the first goal of the match less than a minute and a half before halftime. WKU sophomore Jacob Isenhour launched a shot that XU keeper Ty Helmle knocked down. The rebound went right back to Isenhour, however, and he punched the ball into the back of the net.

With just over five minutes left in the match, Richard Mupfubze added an insurance goal for the Hilltoppers on a breakaway.

The Musketeers (0-3) will look to get their first win of the season against Louisville on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the third game of the Western Kentucky Tournament.
