Men's Soccer Falls At No. 4 Creighton, 2-0

OMAHA, Neb. - A first half header in the 11th minute helped the No. 4 Creighton Bluejays defeat the Xavier men's soccer team, 2-0, in BIG EAST play on Saturday night.
Eric Miller's header off a Zach Barnes pass just 11:15 into the first half proved to be the game-winner and put Creighton up 1-0 early in the match. Christian Blandon added to the Jays lead as he scored his first goal of the season with a shot from 20 yards out at the 50:29 mark of the second half.
The Blue and White, who have gone unbeaten in six of their last eight matches, fall to 4-5-2 overall (0-2 BIG EAST), while No. 4 Creighton improves to 6-2-2 (2-0-1 BIG EAST) on the season.
XU was out shot on the night 15-5 and lost the corner kick battle 6-1.
The Musketeers will return to the pitch on Oct. 9 when they head to Chicago to battle DePaul.
