HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Xavier University men's soccer team once again could not overcome an early deficit and fell, 2-0, to High Point on Sunday afternoon as part of the Marshall Classic in Huntington, W. Va.  With the loss, Xavier falls to 3-5-0 on the year while High Point improves to 2-5-1. 


For their efforts Xavier's El-Hadji Dieng and Jake Vollmer were named to the Marshall Classic All-Tournament Team.


Hilaire Babou registered there points for High Point and scored the game-winner at 17:11 after he hit a header past XU keeper Adam Sokolowski and into the back of the net.




Matt Tuttle would add an insurance tally for High Point at the 30:02 after he punched in a feed from Hilaire. 


Sokolowski ended the day with five saves in 90-minutes of action.  Corey Whisenhunt was outstanding in net for High Point, making seven saves on the afternoon. 


XU held a 20-to-16 shots advantage on the afternoon including a 13-to-7 edge in the second half. 


Xavier returns to action on Friday, September 28 when the team returns home to take on Detroit at 7 p.m.
