Men's Soccer Suffers 2-0 Setback at Bradley
Sept. 12, 2009
PEORIA, Ill. - The Xavier University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to a solid Bradley team on Saturday evening at the Bradley Tournament in Peoria, Ill. With the loss, Xavier slips to 0-3-0 on the season while the Braves improve to 4-0-1.
Bradley's Bryan Gaul scored the game-winner 20:52 into the contest after he collected a loose ball and fired it past Justin Marshall.
Chris Cutshaw would give the Braves some insurance when he netted his fifth goal of the season thanks to an assist from Rudy Garcia with under 10-minutes remaining in regulation.
The Musketeers hung with Bradley statistically, as XU was out-shot by a thin 21-to-18 margin and the Musketeers created three corner kicks to Bradley's four.
Xavier will return home to face Detroit on Friday, September 18. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at the XU Soccer Complex.
