Ryan was named to his second Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-American team and helped Xavier reach three-straight NCAA Tournaments. The three-year captain graduate last May with a dual degree in economics and finance. 11/16/2011 Men's College CupXavier found out it will be returning to the NCAA Tournament to face West Virginia for the second year. As a redshirt junior (2011): Was named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team, becoming only the second Xavier men's soccer player to earn the honor ... Played and started in 20 games and racked up 1,817 minutes on the pitch ... Was named to his second Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team and also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors ... Named one of the nation's 25 Team Linchpins by College Soccer News ... Part of the backline that helped set new single-season records for goals allowed and goals against average ... Recorded 13 shots, three of which were on target. As a redshirt sophomore (2010): Was one of the two top defenders for the Musketeers and key to their Atlantic 10 Championship run ... Named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team ... Was one of four players to start and play in all of the Musketeers' 21 games ... Started in all 21 games during the season... Led the team in minutes played with 1,871, which was the most by a non-goalie player since 2007 ... Tallied three points on one goal and one assist ... Blasted nine shots, four of which were on target ... His lone goal was a game winner against Alabama A&M ... His only assist was a game-winning helper in overtime against IUPUI. As a redshirt freshman (2009): Started in all 15 matches ... Added an assist to his stat sheet in the 2-2 tie against Detroit on September 18 ... Was third on the team in minutes played, with 1219 minutes ... Was a part of the defense that posted one shutout and allowed only one goal in four different occasions. High School: Scored eight goals and recorded six assists during his final year at Hilliard Davidson ... Hilliard Davidson won the Ohio Division I State Championship during his senior season. Club Experience: Played for the Crew Soccer Academy and helped lead them to a third-place finish in the 2008 Academy National Finals ...
