The Xavier men's soccer season that included a record for most wins came to an end on Sunday after a 4-1 loss to Indiana in the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship Second Round at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

Renovation Update

The first phase of the renovation to the playing surface at the Xavier University Soccer Complex is well underway. Check out the process and hear how the new pitch is taking shape.

  • Each of his past 12 recruiting classes (2001-2012) have won a conference championship and played in the NCAA Tournament
  • 22 of 25 players earned a 3.0 GPA during 2011-2012 academic year
  • Had fewest yellow cards in Division I men's soccer in 2011
  • Already tied for most Atlantic 10 postseason championships amongst active Atlantic 10 coaches
  • Along with wife Amy created "Devin's Team" named after the couple's daughter Devin. This has raised tens of thousands of dollars towards down syndrome related activities in the Cincinnati area. This also included the inaugural "Down Syndrome Spring Classic" game against Akron that raised over $4,000 and broke the Xavier's single-game attendance record last April
  • Oversaw the nation's best single-season turnaround in 2010, inheriting a two win team form 2009 and leading them to a 10 win season and its first ever Atlantic 10 championship
  • Has been part of five straight teams with a 3.0 team GPA, good for the NSCAA National Team Academic award
  • Has lead Xavier to 14-straight weeks with one vote in at least one national poll. Was in Top 25 for 36-straight weeks during his tenure at Northwestern
  • Ranked as a high as No. 2 (2008) and also later No. 3 (2007) while at NU. Program had the nation's No. 1 rated RPI during the 2009 season and three-straight top 10 finishes in RPI or national poll (Northwestern 2007-2009)
  • Winningest coach (.667) in Xavier history
  • Developed recent MLS draft picks Andy Dorman (2004), Ryan Johnson (2004), Zach Kirby (2006) Dave Roth (2008), and Oliver Kupe (2012)
  • Coached five conference players of the year and seven All Americans
  • Assembled three recruiting classes that were later part of both the 2011 Big Ten regular and postseason championships at Northwestern
  • Has set school marks in single-season wins, average attendance, team GPA and annual fundraising during his tenure
