Men's Golf Team Finishes Strong At Georgetown Intercollegiate

Bealsville, Md. --- The Xavier University men’s golf team used a strong final round to jump up in the standings and finish fourth out of 12 teams at the annual Georgetown Intercollegiate. XU shot an even-par 284 today, the second-lowest one round score for any team during the three-round tournament. Three Musketeers finished in the top 15.

Yuki Kato led the way for Xavier, shooting a 2-under-par 69 today to finish in a tied for sixth place at 214. Jesse Heinly also made the top 10 on the strength of a 3-under-par 68 today, finishing tied for eighth at 216. Heinly’s 68 today tied for the best round by any player in this year’s tournament. Korey Ward finished tied for 15th at 218.

Aaron Siekmann (tied for 33rd at 224) and Tanapol Vattanapisit (tied for 54th at 230) round out the five-member team scores. Connor Tendall, playing as an individual, finished tied for 38th at 225.

Toledo won the tournament with an 863, followed by Notre Dame (865), Penn State (871), Xavier (872) and Michigan State (878). The complete results for all teams and individuals are posted here: Georgetown Intercollegiate

The tournament was held at which was being held at The Members Club at Four Streams in Bealsville, Md. The par-71, 7,102-yard course is the home for the Georgetown University men’s and women’s programs.
