Men's Golf Set To Participate In The Georgetown Intercollegiate

CINCINNATI - The Xavier men’s golf team will travel to Washington D.C. to participate in the Georgetown Intercollegiate at The Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md. on Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22. Tee-time for the first round is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Monday morning.
The Georgetown Intercollegiate will feature a talented field, as No. 9 UAB and No. 80 Notre Dame give the field two programs from the Golf Weekly Top-100. The Musketeers will also compete against Campbell, DePaul, Miami University (Ohio), Penn State, Saint Joseph's, Toledo, West Florida and William & Mary.
XU will sport a five-person lineup of Korey Ward (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West), Yuki Kato (Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran), Tanapol Vattanapisit (Rayong, Thailand/The Pendleton School), Matt Gerard (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) and Matt Wetterich (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle HS). John Burger (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) will be competing as an individual.
Last time out at the Badger Invite (Oct. 1) in Madison, Wis., the Blue and White finished tied for ninth place. The Musketeers team score of 899 (287-303-309) put them five shots out eighth place and eight shots out of a top five finish. Kato carded a 4-over 76 in the third round to finish tied for eighth place on the individual leaderboard
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday with the final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
