South Bend, Ind. --- The Xavier men’s golf team finished seventh in the final standings out of 12 teams at the three-round, three-day Fightin Irish Gridiron Classic, which was hosted by the University of Notre Dame at the Warren Golf Course. Jesse Heinly turned in Xavier’s top effort with a 6-over-par 219, which tied him for 15th place overall. He shot a 4-over-par 75 for today’s final round.

Xavier shot a 298 for today’s final round, posting a three-round total of 884. Michigan State won the event with an 869.

Three other Musketeers finished in the top 50 other than Heinly: Aaron Siekmann tied for 28th at 222, Korey Ward was tied for 36th at 223 and Yuki Kato tied for 46th at 228.

Xavier is off from competition until the Georgetown Invitational, which will be held October 22-23 in Bealsville, Md.
