MIAMI --- Herbert Day, a 2011 Xavier University graduate, has earned a spot for the inaugural season of PGA TOUR Latinoamérica. Day, a native of San Salvador, El Salvador, will be competing against a familiar face when the tour tees off next month. Sebastian MacLean, a 2012 Xavier graduate and native of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, had already earned a spot earlier this summer.

Day shot a three-round total of six-under par 210 at Doral’s Great White Course in Miami, Florida, this past week, which was good for a tie for ninth place in the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica’s Final Qualifying Tournament.

Day and MacLean have both earned full status for the inaugural season of PGA TOUR Latinoamérica, which begins next month with the first two tournaments set to be played in  Mexico. The first tournament is September 3-8, the Mundo Maya Open at the Yucatan Country Club in Mérida, México. The second tournament is September 10-16, the Monterrey Open at La Herradura Golf Club in Monterrey, México.
