Donovan Named Men's Golf Student-Athlete-of-the-Year

CINCINNATI --- The awards keep piling up for Tim Donovan. After earning medalist honors at the 2001 Atlantic 10 Championship, Donovan can also lay claim to being the best student-athlete in his sport as well.

Today the Atlantic 10 released their Academic All-Conference Teams and Donovan not only made the list but was named the Men's Golf Student-Athlete-of-the-Year. Donovan graduated from Xavier last month with a 3.37 GPA and a bachelor's degree in Business. He was a two-time member of the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Earlier this year, Donovan fired a three-round score of 197 en route to the A-10 Championship. His score, which included a school-record 64 in the second round, made him the first golfer in league history to shoot under 200 at the Championship.

Joining Donovan from Xavier on the Academic All-Conference Team was Ty Brenning. The Musketeers' co-captain, Brenning graduated with a 3.83 GPA and a history degree.

This past season, Brenning ranked second on the team with a .368 batting average (75 hits), had a team-high 20 doubles, scored 49 runs and tallied 37 RBI's.
