CINCINNATI - Senior men's golfer John Streibich was recognized Monday as the Golf World College Men's Player of the Week and by the Atlantic 10 Conference as its Performer of the Week. Streibich carded a final-round 63 last Tuesday, which included his first career hole-in-one, in taking the individual title at the 61st Western Intercollegiate.

The senior captured medalist honors at one of golf's most well-recognized tournaments by carding a career-best 63 (-7) in the final round on Tuesday. He came from three strokes down entering the final 18 holes of play at the world-famous Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, Calif. to out-duel Purdue's Pariya Junhasavasdikul by a stroke.

His final-round 63 included his first collegiate hole-in-one, which came on the 194-yard fifth hole. His 63 and his 54-hole score of 199 (-11) each tied tournament records and set new career marks for the defending A-10 Performer of the Year, who has now been named the A-10 Performer of the Week twice this season. The win marked Streibich's first since winning the 2006 A-10 Championship. His ace was XU's first since 2003.

Streibich leads Xavier this season with a 71.42 stroke average.

Xavier is back in action April 9 and 10 at the Palisades Intercollegiate in Charlotte, N.C.
