MacLean Tied for 29th After Day One of Firestone Invitational

AKRON, Ohio - The Xavier men's golf team finished day one of the Firestone Invitational hosted by the University of Akron in 12th place. The field is competing at the world renowned Firestone Country Club North Course which plays at 7,060 yards.
Four teams in the top 40 in the country according to Golfstat are participating, including Xavier who nabbed a No. 39 ranking. No. 36 Indiana University and No. 34 University of Notre Dame are tied for first place with a staggering team total of 12-under-par 564.
Junior Sebastian MacLean is leading the charge for the Musketeers. MacLean carded rounds of 72-74 to stand at 2-over-par 146. The Boliva native is tied for 29th place after sinking four birdies on the day.
Senior Herbert Day is tied for 47th place with rounds of 76-75--151 (+7). Rookie Yuki Kato is one shot behind Day in 51st place after shooting rounds of 78-74 to sit at 8-over-par 151. Kato had eight birdies on the day, four in each round.
Sophomore Aaron Siekmann was the fourth scorer for Xavier after shooting rounds of 76-81 to stand at 13-over-par. Siekman, who is tied for 65th place had four birdies on the day.
