Tough Outing for the Musketeers in Round Two

BURLINGTON, Iowa - The men's golf team finished the second round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge in 15th place. Senior Chris Burger was the top finisher for Xavier.
The Musketeers shot a team score of 314 (+26) to sit one shot behind UC Irvine.
Burger shot a second round score of 5-over-par 77 for a tournament total of 9-over-par 153. Despite starting his round with a bogey on the par-5 No. 10, Burger managed to birdie two par-5s and a par-3.
Classmate Sebastian MacLean had a tough outing on the back-nine to finish at 9-over-par 81 for a 10-over-par 154. Sophomore Yuki Kato finished one shot behind MacLean for the round for a 12-over-par 156 tournament total.
Freshman Korey Ward improved seven shots from his first round performance. All of Ward's four birdies came on par-4s, which helped him card a 3-over-par 75 for a 13-over-par total of 157. Classmate Tanapol Vattanapisit finished his day with a 9-over-par 81 effort to equal Ward with a 157 tournament total.
