ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Junior Jason Kokrak carded another round of 67 (-4) in leading the Xavier University men's golf team in the third and final round of The Wolverine Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Michigan on the par 71, 6,704-yard U-M Golf Course. The Musketeers fired a 5-under par 279 in the final round to finish tied with Charlotte in second place with a three-round total of 850 (-2). Michigan won the title as the Wolverines finished at 13-under par (839).
Kokrak ended the tournament at 7-under par (206) and tied for second on the individual leaderboard with Iowa's Cole Peevler as Michigan's Christian Vozza was one shot better than the two with a three-round total of 205 (-8).
Freshman Mike Beausejour shot an even-par 71 to finish in 13th place at 1-under par (212) for the first top 20 finish of his collegiate career. John Streibich carded a 69 (-2) for a three-round total of 216 (+3). Andy Pope finished at 4-over par (217) with a third round of 72 (+1) and Andy Connell was 4-over par on the final day to finish at 10-over par (223).
Xavier will be back in action on Monday, October 3, when the Musketeers travel to Richmond, Va. to play in the Mattaponi Springs Collegiate hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University.
