MacLean at Four-Under After Second Round of 2012 NCAA Regional
May 18, 2012
ANN ARBOR, Mich.- With a 1-under-par 70 on Friday, Xavier men's golfer Sebastian MacLean is 4-under after the first two rounds of the 2012 NCAA Ann Arbor Regional and sitting in a tie for seventh place overall. MacLean carded four birdies on the day and, as the top individual, he will tee off at 9:50 Saturday morning from the 10th tee.
MacLean, teeing off from the 10th hole this morning, started off a little slow with two pars and then a costly double-bogie on hole three. He got both strokes back with birdies on 14 and 16 and took the turn with an even 35.
On the front nine, MacLean parred four straight holes before bogeying five to go back to 1-over. Finishing strong, he birdied holes six and eight to turn in a 1-under-par 70 for the day.
Saturday's round is the third and final round of the regional being held at University of Michigan Course, a par-71, 6,723-yard facility. The low individual (not competing on a team) from each regional will advance to the finals.
The finals will be conducted May 29-June 3, at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Southern California is the host institution for this year's championships.
