Day Two Results

 

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - Freshman Alan Glynn fired the best round of the day, an eight-under par 64, to lead the Xavier men's golf team on day two of the Atlantic 10 Championship.  Xavier cut Charlotte's lead to one stroke leading into the final day of competition tomorrow.

 

Glynn stands tied for second with teammate Jason Kokrak, who carded the second-best round of the day, a five-under 67.  Glynn and Kokrak improved to three strokes off the individual lead, held by Charlotte's Matt Mincer.

 

All five competitors for XU are in the top ten after two rounds.  Senior John Streibich shot a 71 for the day, earning him a tie for fifth place.  Junior Brian Keating also shot a 71, his second of the tournament, which puts him in a tie for ninth with teammate Michael Beausejour.


 

 

 

The Musketeers ballooned their lead over third-place St. Bonaventure to 25 strokes, making Sunday a showdown between Xavier and Charlotte for the title.  Tee times begin at 8:00 a.m.
