CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -An 8-under-par team score of 280 helped the Xavier men's golf team pull to within two shots of the lead after round two at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship. Four Musketeers are in the top 25.

Xavier holds a 6-under-par 570 score for the tournament, which ties it with Charlotte for second place. George Washington holds the slight lead at 8-under-par 568. Charlotte's Raoul Menard is leading the tournament at 6-under-par 138.

Senior Sebastian MacLean brought in a solid score for the Musketeers, utilizing six birdies, and sits in third place two shots off the leader at 4-under-par 140. Classmate Chris Burger had another consistent outing, carding a 2-under-par 70 for a tournament total of 3-under-par 141.

Sophomore Yuki Kato turned in a 1-under-par 71 effort to go 1-over-par 145 for the tournament for a 16th place tie. Freshman Korey Ward was the final score for Xavier, also a 1-under-par 71, and has a 3-over-par tournament total of 147 for 23rd place. Freshman Tanapol Vattanapisit came in with a 4-over-par 76 for a 5-over-par 149 total for 31st place.

As a team, Xavier went 3-under-par on the front nine and 2-under-par on the back nine with 17 total birdies on the day.
