Detroit, Mich. --- The Xavier University men's golf team finished second in the six-team, two-round Detroit Golf Club Invitational on Friday with a five-player total of 722. Michigan won the event with a 709.

Three Musketeers finished among the top eight golfers, including Aaron Siekmann  and Tanapol Vattanapisit in a tie for fourth at two-over-par 142, while Yuki Kato checked in at eighth with a three-over-par 143. Connor Tendall used a final-round 67, XU's lowest single-round score of the day, to break into the top 20, finishing in a tie for number 19 at 147.

Xavier's top golfer, Korey Ward, did not make the trip to Michigan.

The six teams played two courses at the Detroit Golf Club, a par-72, 6936-yard layout and a par-68, 5983-yard layout.

Xavier next plays in the Rutherford Invitational in Happy Valley, Pa., on April 20-21.
