KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -The Xavier men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Irish Creek Collegiate. The Musketeers finished with a team score of 11-over-par 863. Senior Sebastian MacLean led the team with his third place finish.

MacLean carded an even-par 71 on the final day to end at 8-under-par 205 for a tie for third place. Freshman Korey Ward tied for 14th with a 1-under-par 212 following a 1-under-par 70 on the final day.

Freshman Tanapol Vattanapisit carded a 1-over-par 72 for a 9-over-par 222 for 48th place. Senior Chris Burger was two shots behind with an 11-over-par 224 tournament total for 53rd place. Senior Nick Helser shot a 34-over-par 247.

Kent State won the event as a team with a 27-under-par 825. Mercer's James Beale won medalist honors with a 13-under-par 200.

The Musketeers have one more event before the Atlantic 10 Championships. The team will stay close to home participating in the Robert Kepler Invitational at Ohio State University April 13-14. Stay tuned to GoXavier.com for more information on Xavier men's golf.
