MacLean in First After Day One of Irish Creek Collegiate

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Senior Sebastian MacLean had a stellar first day and finished in first place after two rounds of play at the Irish Creek Collegiate. As a team, Xavier sits in sixth place.
The Musketeers shot a team score of 285-289--574 (+6). Kent State leads the tournament after carding a team score of 15-under-par 553.
MacLean holds a two-shot lead over the rest of the field after carding rounds of 68-66 for an 8-under-par 134. The Santa Cruz, Bolivia native had 12 birdies on the day to four bogeys.
Freshman Korey Ward is in a tie for 16th place after a 69-73--142 (E) performance on day one. Ward had seven birdies, five bogeys and a double bogey on the day. Senior Chris Burger is in a tie for 44th after shooting rounds of 73-75--148 (+6). Freshman Tanapol Vattanapisit sits in 53rd place with an 8-over-par 150, shooting 75s in both rounds. Senior Nick Helser is in 75th place with a score of 21-over-par 163.
