Blackburn, a Cincinnati native, is returning to assist the men's golf team. The 2011-12 season will mark Blackburn's 11th season assisting Head Coach Doug Steiner. He has coached three A-10 Champions in his previous ten seasons.

Blackburn spent many years in the Cincinnati area as a teacher and coach. He served as a teacher, coach and publications director at Green Hills and Winton Woods High Schools. He retired from teaching in 2003 and has been a manufacturing representative since then. He currently resides in West Chester, Ohio.
