  • Xavier is off to a 4-1 start under third-year head coach Sean Miller, who celebrated his 38th birthday with a win on Friday, November 17 against VCU.

  • Xavier head coach Sean Miller and Miami head coach Charlie Coles coached together as assistants at Miami (Ohio) in the 1994-95 season, helping MU win the MAC title and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. XU assistant James Whitford, who is in his second year at Xavier, was at Miami for 11 seasons prior to coming to XU, including 10 under Coles. Xavier Director of Basketball Operations Bill Comar was an administrative assistant at Miami.

  • Xavier and Miami have met 93 times, which is tied with Detroit (XU's opponent next Tuesday, December 5) for the second-most games for a Musketeer opponent. Dayton and XU have met 141 times.

  • Xavier and Miami met in the first-ever game at Cintas Center, a 68-54 XU win on November 18, 2000. Xavier is 2-1 against Miami at Cintas Center, although the RedHawks won the last meeting here 66-54 thanks to 55.8 percent shooting, including 61.5 percent (8-of-13) marksmenship from behind the three-point arc.

  • Tonight's game is the second game of a season-high four-game homestand.

  • Senior forward Justin Doellman is just 18 points shy of 1,000 for his career.

  • Senior forward Justin Doellman recorded 10-rebound games against Alabama and VCU in the Paradise Jam. Doellman, who led XU in rebounding as a sophomore and a junior, is leading the team again this season at 7.8 rpg.

  • Junior forward Josh Duncan, who sat out the exhibitions due to injury, has started all five regular season games. Duncan is second on the team in scoring at 13.8 ppg. following his career-high and game-high 23 point, eight-rebound game against American. Duncan is third on the team in rebounding at 5.6 rpg., including a career-high nine rebound game versus Alabama to go with a team-high 14 points.

  • Preseason Atlantic 10 First Team selection Stanley Burrell, a junior guard, has picked up where he left off last season by leading XU in scoring so far at 14.0 ppg. to go with a team-high tying 3.0 apg. Burrell's 26-point game against Villanova was the second-highest of his career and the seven assists (to go with no turnovers) against Alabama were a new career high. Burrell led XU in scoring as a freshman and a sophomore and led XU in assists last season with 105.
