CINCINNATI --- Wake Forest University and Xavier University have announced the unveiling of the logo for the inaugural Skip Prosser Classic.

The logo will be used in all promotional and merchandising items for the event. Wake Forest and Xavier will also wear the logo as a patch on their respective uniforms during the game.

The Demon Deacons and Musketeers agreed in February on a 10-year series beginning in 2009-10 that will be known as the Skip Prosser Classic. The series will be a tribute to Prosser, who was the head coach at Xavier from 1994-2001 and at Wake Forest from 2001 until his death in 2007.

The inaugural game in the series will be on Jan. 3, 2010, at the Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem.

Five games in the series will be played at Wake Forest and five at Xavier.

Both schools have launched literacy programs with local elementary schools in conjunction with the series. Prosser was an advocate throughout his career of promoting literacy.

A portion of proceeds from official Skip Prosser Classic merchandise sales will towards each school's literacy program.

Tipoff for the inaugural Skip Prosser Classic is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010. The game will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports Net.
