CINCINNATI – Xavier University junior forward Matt Stainbrook has been named to the 10-member men’s basketball Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team. This is the 12th year for the scholar-athlete awards program.

Stainbrook, who holds a 3.343 G.P.A. as a finance major, is the Co-President of the Xavier University’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is a captain on the basketball squad. Stainbrook led Xavier in rebounding this past season at 7.4 rpg., while contributing 10.6 ppg. on a team that finished 21-13 overall and earned XU’s eighth NCAA Tournament berth in nine years.

Basketball players from all Division I-AAA ADA member institutions are eligible for these prestigious awards. Each of the nominees was required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletics credentials. Now in its 13th year, the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association's mission is to enhance initiatives common to its Division I-AAA membership (the 99 Division I institutions that do not sponsor football), in particular, aspects related to their flagship basketball programs. For more information on the Division I-AAA ADA, please visit www.div1aaa-ada.com. The Division I-AAA ADA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).
