CINCINNATI --- Kamall Richards, a 6-6 freshman forward from Brooklyn, N.Y., has decided to transfer from Xavier University.
“We wish Kamall the best and hope he finds success beyond Xavier University,” said Xavier head coach Chris Mack. “The decision will allow Kamall to get fully healthy in his sit out year so that he can make the type of impact he wants to at the Division I level.“
Richards played in seven games for the Musketeers this season, averaging 3.3 minutes, 0.7 points and 0.6 rebounds per game. Richards posted career highs of three points and two rebounds in a career-high six minutes of action against Gardner-Webb on Nov. 8. Richards missed the last three months of the season due to injury.
Richards spent the 2012-13 season at South Kent School, a prep school in Connecticut, following a standout career at St. Benedict’s Prep (N.J.).
