• Xavier, 22-5 overall and 10-3 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, defeated George Washington 71-53 at Cintas Center on Sunday as five Musketeers scored in double figures.

• Xavier, 22-5, has now clinched four straight 20-win seasons and 12 20-win seasons in the past 13 years.

• Xavier is 19th in the Associated Press Poll and 22nd in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, which marks the 14th straight week XU has been ranked in both major national polls. XU is ranked 13th in the latest RPI ratings for collegerpi.com (2-23-09).

• Xavier has two players that are knocking on the door for the Xavier 1,000 Point Club. Junior Derrick Brown enters the Saint Joseph’s game with 986 career points, while senior teammate B.J. Raymond has 976 career points.

• Xavier senior B.J. Raymond has averaged 17.2 ppg. and 3.9 rpg. over the last nine games, while shooting 55.4 percent (51-of-92) from the field, including 50.0 percent (29-of-58) from three-point territory.

• Xavier junior Jason Love, a Philadelphia native, loves to play the Philly schools. He averaged 11.5 ppg. and 8.0 rpg. in wins earlier this season over Temple and La Salle.

• Xavier is now 18-1 this season when it holds the opponent to 70 points or less. XU is 4-4 when the opponent scores 71 points or more.

• Xavier leads the A-10 in three major statistical categories: scoring margin (+10.3 ppg.), rebounding margin (sixth in the nation at +8.2 rpg.) and three-point field goal percentage (ninth in the nation at .400), which is. XU is second in field goal percentage (.471 and field goal percentage defense (14th in the nation at .386).

• Xavier is on pace to challenge the school record (.399) three-point percentage mark set in the 1986-87 season.

• Xavier freshman Brad Redford leads the Atlantic 10 in three-point percentage at 47.9 percent (45-of-94), including 4-of-6 against GW. Senior B.J. Raymond leads the team in three-pointers (63) and is fourth in the A-10 at 42.0 percent.

• Xavier is one of only nine schools that have made the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight multiple times in the last five years. XU earned its third straight NCAA berth in 2008.
