Xavier Named Finalist For "Best Road Trip Destination in College Basketball"

CHICAGO - Xavier University is nominated for "Best Road Trip Destination in College Basketball presented by Enterprise Rent-A-Car", Intersport announced today. Voting for the 10 finalists opened today with the winner to be completely fan-determined through Facebook voting. Fans can vote once per day until January 25.The winning school will be featured in GEICO Best of College Basketball on Saturday, April 6 on CBS.

The 10 finalists were chosen based on a wide range of categories including in-game atmosphere, history of the program, pre- and post-game events, scenery and attractions of the town and many more. Fans can visit the Facebook page to view videos and photo albums showcasing why each school is a perfect college basketball road trip destination.

Xavier's state-of-the-art Cintas Center is a 10,250 seat, on-campus arena that opened in 2000. The Musketeers have averaged 10,034 fans and have sold-out 109 games in 13 years with a record of 166-23 at Cintas Center. With local favorites such as Skyline Chili, Cintas is the perfect place to watch a top college basketball game. In recent years Xavier has been voted one of the top three toughest places to play in an EA Sports online poll. Xavier University's campus has had some impressive renovations and new construction in the past few years and continues to grow and expand. From the Cincinnati Zoo to the impressive night life hot spots, which includes Mt. Adams, The Banks and Fountain Square, Xavier University and the City of Cincinnati is a great place to visit.
