Gonzaga's Sam Dower scored a season-high 20 points to lead Gonzaga (11-2) past Xavier (9-4), 72-65. Kevin Pangos added 13 and Elias Harris chipped in 12. Dower grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds and Pangos dished out 7 assists. Xavier was led by Tu Holloway and Mark Lyons who each scored 15 points, while Kenny Frease added 12. Frease grabbed 6 rebounds and Frease, Holloway, and Justin Martin each had 2 assists.
Tonight's loss marks only the second time Xavier has dropped back-to-back home games at Cintas Center. The other time occurred during the 2004-05 season when XU lost three straight at Cintas Center, dropping games to Miami (11-22-04), Creighton (11-30-04), and #20 Mississippi State (12-18-04).
Senior All-American Tu Holloway is 18th on XU's all-time scoring list with 1,440 points. Ahead of him in 17th position is NBA veteran James Posey (1996-99) who scored 1,455 points during his XU career.
