Jordan Crawford led the Musketeers with 22 points against Creighton at the Old Spice Classic.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Sophomore guard Jordan Crawford posted 22 points including 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from behind the arch to give the Musketeers an 80-67 win over Creighton at the Old Spice Classic at Walt Disney World Friday. Xavier shot 53.7 percent from the field and a solid 50 percent from 3-point land on the day.
The Musketeers (4-1 overall) led the entire game and blew the game open at the 10:09 mark in the second half when junior forward Jamel McLean threw down a big dunk to give XU a 65-49 lead. McLean finished with six points and four rebounds on the day.
Sophomore point guard Terrell Holloway was second on the team in scoring with 12 points against the Blue Jays. He also led the team in assists with six and pulled down three rebounds. Creighton (2-3 overall), was led by forward Ethan Wagge with 21 points and six rebounds.
The Musketeers won the battle of the boards with 33 rebounds to the Jays’ 31. The Musketeer defense also had a big day and held the Jays to just 38.8 percent shooting.
XU took a 39-31 lead into intermission led by Holloway’s nine first half points. Junior forward Andrew Taylor gave the Musketeers a spark off the bench in the first half scoring six points and pulling down two rebounds.
Xavier will face the either Baylor or Iona at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29. The game will be televised on ESPN-U.
