Duquesne Head Coach Ron Everhart
"Take your hat off to Xavier. They played great and really rebounded the ball well on the offensive end at the start. They did a great job of pitching out and sharing the ball. I don't know how many assists they had, but they really shared the ball tonight. They were looking to pass first tonight."
"Tonight they looked like the team I saw earlier this year. Their depth is scary. You have to take your hat off to Chris [Mack]. He's doing a great job of integrating the guys who were out."
"Their perimeter defense was great."
On his 6 offensive rebounds "The coaches were telling me to go to the offensive glass, and to go every time."
"Guys were making the right passes at the right time and my legs felt really good."
"I've been really asserting myself on defense, rebounding, and getting offensive rebounds."
"It just felt like we were getting back to normal. Everybody contributed. Everybody was cheering each other on."
"We were more locked in and focused. Our focus was there more than it has been. It was good to be out there hearing everybody talk."
Xavier Head Coach Chris Mack
"I thought that the effort our guys had defensively was great, especially early on. We did a much better job of keeping guys out of the lane. We did a great job of taking care of the ball. We did a great job to contain penetration. Early on in the year we were defending at this level, and you saw the result."
"T.J. [McConnell] was another challenge, especially for Tu [Holloway] early on. I thought our two guards did a remarkable job defensively."
"Guys are playing with renewed energy and are sharing the ball even better than the first eight games."
On Dez Wells
"He's such a phenomenal finisher. He's nasty up there [in the air]. He's the best freshman in the conference."
