KEY EFFORTS IN BIG GAMES AS A JUNIOR...had 10 points and eight assists in the first round Atlantic 10 Tournament game against La Salle...contributed 11 points and five assists in the win over Dayton on March 5...had 10 points, eight assists and just one turnover in the home win over Richmond...contributed 15 points, four rebounds and four assists in the win at Miami, including 12 points in the second half and overtime combined...scored a team-high 15 points in the home win over La Salle.
2003-04...was a big key to the Musketeers in his role as the "sixth man" over the final 18 games...came up big with a career-high 22 points on the strength of 6-of-9 shooting from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range, in the NCAA Tournament win over Mississippi State and had 11 points and six assists in the NCAA win over Louisville...also was big in the Atlantic 10 Championship Game against Dayton with 11 points, four rebounds and two assists with no turnovers and some aggressive defense in 25 minutes of action...came off the bench to drill four first half three-pointers on his way to scoring 20 points to go with four assists and three steals in Xavier's win at La Salle on February 18...dished out a team-high 124 assists (10th in the Atlantic 10 Conference at 3.4 per game)...averaged 12.8 ppg. and shot 48.1 percent from the field (including 10-of-18 from three-point range for 55.6 percent) for the four games in the 2004 NCAA Tournament.
2002-03...named to the 2003 Atlantic 10 Conference All-Rookie Team... started each of the final 30 games... earned Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week honors thanks to his season high 21-point game at UMass on Jan. 18...contributed 14 points, six assists and no turnovers in the win over Duquesne at Cintas Center and 17 points, six rebounds and four steals at Fordham...had 15 points and three assists at George Washington.... recorded an 18-point, three-assist effort at Saint Joseph's...was first on the team in assists at 4.3 per game (sixth in the Atlantic 10)...had a career high 11 assists and just one turnover in the win over Rhode Island...was just the third Xavier freshman ever to reach 100 assists...his team-high total of 139 assists is the highest total ever by a Xavier freshman.
AT CASTLE HIGH SCHOOL...2001-02 All-Metro Player of the Year (Evansville Courier & Press)...named First Team All-State (IBCA) after leading his team to a 22-4 record, a sectional championship, a regional championship and the school's first trip to semi-state...AP Second Team All-State...as a senior he led the team in scoring (18.0 ppg.), assists (4.6 apg.) and steals (3.6 spg.)...had a school record 11 three-pointers on his way to a school record 37 points in a win over Evansville Memorial...basketball coach: Steve Brunes.
