ATLANTIC 10 CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE STANDOUT...selected by the Atlantic 10 Coaches to the 2006-07 Atlantic 10 Conference All-Defensive Team...this is Cage's third straight year as a member of the Atlantic 10's All-Defensive Team, having also made the team in 2004-05 and 2005-06.
1,000 POINT CLUB...joined teammates Justin Doellman and Stanley Burrell in the 1,000 Point Club during the Saint Joe's game on Jan. 21... finished his career 26th on XU's all-time scoring list with 1,181 career points.
2006-07...second on the team in rebounding at 5.4 rpg., including his game-high 10 rebound games at Duquesne and at Fordham...led the team in rebounding 11 times...fourth on the team in scoring at 10.5 ppg., including a career-high 25 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the field in the NCAA game against Ohio State...had 17 points at Duquesne and 12 points versus UMass...third on the team with 20 double-figure scoring games...scored in double figures in 12 of the last 18 games...had his fifth career "double-double" and third of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds versus URI in the A-10 Tournament...had a 13-point, six-rebound game against Illinois and a 17-point, seven-rebound game against Arizona State...had 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and a career-high three blocks against Dayton...made the game-winning basket on a drive that put XU ahead for good at 67-66 against Villanova in addition to two big blocks in the closing 1:02 of action...it was reminiscent of the game-saving blocked shot he had at the end of the 2006 A-10 Championship Game against Saint Joseph's.
STARTING SOMETHING...started his final 113 straight games...a starter on XU's 2004 NCAA Tournament "Elite Eight" team...played in 131 career games, second only to XU career record-holder Justin Doellman (132).
2006 A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP "MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER" AWARD...averaged a team-high 14.3 ppg. on 72.4 percent (21-of-29) shooting from the field in Xavier's four wins in the Atlantic 10 Championship...scored a career-high tying 19 points, hitting 7-of-8 shots from the field, to go with four assists and two blocks in the A-10 Championship win over Saint Joseph's.
CAGE BECAME OFFENSIVE...averaged 14.2 ppg. and 6.0 rpg. over Xavier's last 11 games last season while shooting 62.5 percent (50-of-80)...for the season he averaged 10.5 ppg. and 5.4 rpg and shot 55.6 percent.
2004-05...named to the 2005 Atlantic 10 Conference Third Team and the 2005 Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team.
2003-04...played in all 36 games...started each of the last 18 games, helping XU win the A-10 Tournament and reach the NCAA "Elite Eight".
