Three Musketeers Garner All-Conference Recognitions

Three Xavier baseball players picked up five postseason awards from the Atlantic 10, as announced on Tuesday afternoon. Seniors Jon Richard and Mark Elwell were each named second team all-conference and academic all-conference, while Daniel Rizzie was selected to the all-rookie squad.

Xavier baseball earned the four-seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship and will face No. 5 George Washington in the first game of the tournament at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at the Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

Xavier Experiences Déjà vu, Defeats Butler In Ninth

For the second-straight day, Xavier scored a run in the ninth inning to defeat a scrappy Butler team, 4-3. Derek Hasenbeck led the Musketeers going 2-for-2 at the plate with a run scored and two RBIs, including the game winner.
