CINCINNATI - Sophomore Matt Kleifges connected on a home run in the bottom of the second and that was all the Blue Team's pitching staff needed to take decisive game five of the Blue-White Series on Tuesday afternoon at Hayden Field. Kleifges went 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored while teammate Dan Rink was a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and a pair of RBI.

The Blue pitching staff scattered six hits over seven innings, walked two and struck out four. Junior Ben Thomas went 1.1 innings for the win. Thomas also went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and a run scored on Tuesday.

Junior Ryan Bellamy led the way for the White Team with a 2-for-2 effort. Vinny Nittoli was 2-for-3 with a double. He also threw a scoreless sixth inning for the White Team.

The Blue Team took control in the second inning with Kleifges' one-out homer, which was followed by a single from Dan Rinck. Freshman Daniel Rod then reached on an error by Bobby Freking. Freshman Mitch Elliott took advantage with a single, which plated a pair of runs and the Blues were off to the races.

The Blue Team added a run in the fourth inning after Rinck doubled, advanced to second on a fielder's choice and scored on Elliott's sac fly.
