CINCINNATI - In the opening game of Xavier's annual fall Blue/White series, Daniel Przeniczny went 3-for-3 to help the white team to the victory, 4-3.
Przeniczny and the White team found themselves in 2-1 hole heading to the bottom of the sixth. The Lambertville, Mich., native tripled and later scored to knot the game.
A run scored by David Morton in the top of the seventh put the blue team back on top, but Derek Hasenbeck scored in the bottom half of the inning on a single by Bo Slemons to even the game at three-all.
Przeniczny led off the bottom of the eighth with a double to left center and scored the game-winning run on a single by Dan Rizzie.
The starting pitchers for both teams looked solid in their first outing of the fall. Vinny Nittoli and Zach Johnson went four innings apiece for the blue team, with Johnson earning the win. Nittoli faced 16 batters in the game, allowing one earned run, striking out three batters and giving up one walk. Johnson gave up two runs, only one earned, and fanned three batters.
