CINCINNATI - Junior lefty Danny Rosenbaum has been selected in the 22nd round of Major League Baseball's First-Year Player draft by the Washington Nationals. Rosenbaum was the 652nd pick overall. This makes the third consecutive year and fourth time since 2005 a Musketeer has been chosen in the draft.

The Loveland, Ohio, native has led the team in strikeouts for two consecutive seasons and has moved into the top ten in Xavier program history with 159 K's over his two seasons as a Musketeer. He made 16 appearances for XU in 2009, starting 15 times, and tossed a career-high 88.2 innings.

The highest draft pick in school history was Richard Donnelly, who was taken in the 1967 draft with the 158th pick in the ninth round. Last season, Charlie Leesman was selected in the 11th round as the 330th overall pick while Michael Scuglik and Lou Witte each went in the 12th round in the 1999 draft. Scuglik selected 375th overall and Witte was taken 381st overall.
