CAMDEN, N.J. - The second-seeded Xavier baseball team is set to defend its Atlantic 10 Championship title this week at the 2010 A-10 Tournament. XU will open its run at back-to-back crowns against No. 3 Rhode Island in a rematch of last year's title game. First pitch for the Musketeers and Rams is set for 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Campbell's Field.

Xavier (25-30) is currently enjoying an eight-game win streak heading into tomorrow's tournament matchup against Rhode Island. The Musketeers and Rams have previously met 32 times with URI holding the slim 17-15 margin in the all-time series between the two.

Rhode Island (30-25) advanced to face Xavier after defeating sixth-seeded La Salle, 7-2, on Wednesday in its opening-round game. Junior Tom Coulombe went 3-for-4 and now has 82 hits this season, marking a new single-season record at URI.
