CINCINNATI - Xavier baseball earned the four-seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship and will face No. 5 George Washington in the first game of the tournament at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at the Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

The Musketeers finished the conference season with a 16-8 mark and 30-24 overall record. The Colonials closed the season at 15-9 in conference action, 25-30 overall. GW tied with La Salle, but swept the Explorers this weekend to earn the five seed and push La Salle into the six spot.

Saint Louis, Charlotte and Rhode Island shared the regular-season conference crown, but SLU earned the top seed and first-round bye after the tie-breaker procedures were conducted. Charlotte took the two-seed and Rhode Island the third. The field is rounded out with Richmond as the seventh seed.

This marks the sixth time in the last seven seasons that the Musketeers have advanced to the conference tournament. XU won the championship in 2009 and advanced to the NCAA Regionals.
