Chidemo, Elliott Home Runs Lead XU To 4-3 Win Over Butler
Xavier knocked out two home runs in a three-run sixth inning to earn a 4-3 win over Butler Wednesday afternoon. With the win, Xavier improved to 17-21 on the season. Starter Jacob Bodner improved to 1-1 on the season as he earned the win in five innings.

Xavier (28-23) enters the weekend on a four-game winning streak, its second longest of the season, while Butler (24-25) is on a three-game skid. The two teams are separated by three games in the Atlantic 10 standings. The Musketeers are 14-7 and the Bulldogs are 11-10.

One victory is all that Xavier needs to secure a berth into the Atlantic 10 Championships, which will be held May 22-25 at the Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

The final game of the series is scheduled to take place at Victory Field in Indianapolis at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The park serves as home to the Indianapolis Indians, the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Last Weekend...
Xavier swept a three-game series against Massachusetts this past weekend. Severe thunderstorms forced a cancelation of Friday's games and the two teams met in a doubleheader on Saturday. Xavier won game one, 15-3, thanks to a nine-run first inning. The Musketeers built a four-run lead in game two and held on for a 4-3 win. Senior Tyler Koors was masterful on senior day on Sunday, tossing a complete-game shutout to help XU to a 1-0 victory.

A-10 Championship
The A-10 Championship, which are seven-team double elimination, are three games away. Currently, the top seven teams are Charlotte (16-5), Saint Louis (15-6), La Salle (15-6), Xavier (14-7), Rhode Island (14-7), Richmond (13-8) and St. Joe's and George Washington tied for seventh at 12-9. Butler sits ninth with an 11-10 record.

Last Meeting - Butler
XU and BU met once in 2012 in a midweek contest in Indianapolis. Xavier picked up a 4-3 victory in which Selby Chidemo and Mitch Elliott each homered. The series will be the first and only between the two schools as members of the Atlantic 10. Xavier and Butler will be members of the Big East starting July 1.

Eberhardt Provides Walk-Off Win
Tres Eberhardt knocked a single up the middle in the ninth inning of Xavier's contest with Akron on Tuesday to score Selby Chidemo and give XU a 5-4 walk-off win. Eberhardt battled to a full count before sending a ground ball past the Zips' infield, which was pulled in to protect against the winning run.

Koors...Turn Him Loose!
Starting pitcher Tyler Koors was tabbed Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week following his complete-game shutout of Massachusetts on Sunday. Koors scattered seven hits and walked none, while striking out six batters in the game. It was a fitting end for the senior, who earned the win on senior day in XU's last home game as a member of the A-10.
