CINCINNATI - Xavier and St. John's are tied for second in the BIG EAST Conference standings and will play a key three-game series this weekend at XU's Hayden Field. The Musketeers have won three in a row and sit at 24-18 overall, while the Red Storm enter at 27-15 after dropping a mid-week contest against Princeton.

Hayden Field has been a tough place to play for Xavier's opponents this season. After dropping its home opener to Toledo on March 14, XU has reeled off eight-consecutive home wins to move to 8-1 on its home turf. The Musketeers already have a home sweep of Villanova in the books.

The offense has been on a roll for Xavier, averaging nine runs per game in its last five contests. Derek Hasenbeck leads the charge with a .316 batting average. Daniel Rizzie is hitting .303 with a team-best 31 runs scored.

Andre Jernigan has driven in a team-high 34 RBIs, while Preseason All-BIG EAST selection Joe Forney paces the team and conference with 15 doubles.

Vinny Nittoli, who pulls double-duty between the field and mound, sports a scintillating 1.83 ERA and 5-2 record. Scott Klever has been cruising on the mound as well, allowing just one run in his last 16 innings pitched. The senior hurler is 5-3 with a 3.28 ERA.

Adam Hall boasts a 5-2 record on the season after picking up a victory in an inning of relief against Wright State earlier this week. Brad Kirschner has been the Musketeers' top reliever this season. The freshman has six saves and holds a 2.40 ERA.

Game times are schedule for 3 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday. GoXavier.com will provide live stats for all three contests, and Saturday's game will feature a free video stream on the website.
