Xavier Faces Cincinnati In Two-Game Series

CINCINNATI -- The Xavier baseball team renews its rivalry with the Bearcats of the University of Cincinnati in a two-game series beginning Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Hayden Field. The Musketeers (18-23) travel to Cincinnati (13-27) Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. tilt.

Sophomore Scott Klever will look to improve on his 2-4 record Tuesday as he makes his fourth start of the season. Jacob Bodner will take the hill in Wednesday's matchup and will look to improve on his 1-1 record.

Lefty Brad Mergen (0-3) will start Tuesday's contest for UC while right hander Art Warren (0-0) will take the hill Wednesday.

Xavier defeated Cincinnati in the two teams' first meeting of the season in the Joe Nuxhall Classic on April, 11. Sophomore Tres Eberhardt led Xavier offensively as he went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored.
