CINCINNATI - Xavier baseball will host Bowling Green at 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon at XU's home park Hayden Field. The Musketeers had a seven-game winning streak halted on Saturday against Charlotte and look to start a new winning streak against the Falcons.
Xavier (21-17) has been on a tear of late going 15-6 in its last 21 games, including 10-3 over the last 13. The Musketeers' potent offense is averaging 6.5 runs per game on the strength of 11.1 hits per contest.
Led by Mark Elwell's .378 batting average, XU is hitting .310 as a team this season. Nine Musketeers sport an average over .300, giving Xavier a balanced offensive attack throughout the entire lineup. Patrick Paligraf has 31 RBIs to lead six players with at least 20 on the season.
Bowling Green (13-20) enters after dropping its last contest, 3-7, to Akron. Prior to the loss, the Falcons had won six in a row.
