CINCINNATI - Following a brief two-day break for Easter, Xavier baseball takes the field for a home-and-home series with local-foe Northern Kentucky this week. The two teams will square off at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in Highland Heights, Ky., in game one before meeting at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Xavier's Hayden Field.

The Musketeers are 21-17 overall and are coming off of a 1-3 week, which included a 1-2 effort at Butler in BIG EAST action. The Bulldogs handed Xavier its first two losses in league play, as the team now sits at 7-2 and in second-place in the conference.

Daniel Rizzie had a big week for XU, going 6-for-12 with five RBIs and three runs scored. His efforts landed him on the BIG EAST's weekly honor roll.

Trent Astle (2-3, 4.15 ERA) will take the mound for the Musketeers on Tuesday, and Eric Stiene (2-1, 2.23 ERA) gets the starting nod Wednesday.

The Norse, which are in just their second season as an NCAA Division I program, are 11-29 on the season and 5-9 in the Atlantic Sun Conference (A-Sun). NKU was swept last weekend by Mercer and is just 1-7 in its last eight.

Tuesday's game will feature live stats and a video stream by the A-Sun, which will be carried at NKUNorse.com. Xavier will provide live stats at GoXavier.com for Wednesday's contest.
