Xavier Baseball Shaves Heads To Help Fight Childhood Cancer

CINCINNATI - Sixteen members of the Xavier University baseball team shaved their heads following the Musketeers' game against Villanova on Sunday as part of a fundraiser to benefit the Vs. Cancer Foundation and a local hospital.

Head coach Scott Googins, assistant coach Billy O'Conner, players Scott Klever, Jake Forrester, Derek Hasenbeck, Jacob Bodner, Joey Noble, Brian Bruening, Markus Kuykendoll, Jason Hall, Joe Forney, Patrick Jones, Eric Stiene, Chase Puente, Daniel Przeniczny and head athletic trainer Jody Jenike comprised Xavier's fundraising team.

As of early Sunday afternoon the group had received $11,479, exceeding its goal of $10,000. There are 120 teams from across the country raising funds, and Xavier's total ranks eighth.
