CINCINNATI - Xavier left fielder junior Steve Brown was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday, April 7. This is the first weekly honor for the Cincinnati native and the second weekly award for a Musketeer this season.

Brown batted .647 (11-for-17) with nine runs scored and seven RBI over four contests last week. Four of his 11 hits went for extra bases and he also added a pair of walks. He went 4-for-5 with four RBI and three runs scored in Xavier's 14-3 win versus Richmond on Apr. 5 and had five hits in five at-bats and scored four runs in the Musketeers' 14-5 victory over the Spiders in game two on Apr. 5 Brown currently leads the team in runs (21), doubles (8) and stolen bases (5).
