Xavier Game Notes - Week 8
- Xavier (11-14, 4-2 A-10) and Dayton (7-15-1, 2-4 A-10) will play a three-game Atlantic 10 Conference series at Hayden Field on Xavier's campus this weekend. The two teams haven't met since 2011 in the A-10 Tournament, a game in which the Flyers won, 1-0.

Friday's 3 p.m. contest will be streamed live on the all-access page on GoXavier.com. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start and Sunday's game will begin at noon.
In The Last Week...
Xavier went 1-2 in a series at Saint Louis, falling 4-3 in 11 innings on Friday and 11-1 on Sunday. The Musketeers trounced SLU, 14-4, on Saturday. XU won at OU on Tuesday, 15-10, thanks to Patrick Paligraf's six RBIs. On Wednesday, Xavier dropped a hard fought decision to No. 17/16 Indiana, 9-5.
Last Meeting - Dayton
The two teams last met in 2011, playing a three-game series and then meeting in the A-10 Tournament. Xavier dropped the first game of the series, 0-6, but took the final two games of the series, 6-2 and 5-1. UD eliminated XU from the A-10 Tournament with a 1-0 decision.
Lighting Up The Scoreboard
In its last eight games, Xavier has been on quite a tear. The Musketeers have hit .370 as a team, with a slugging percentage of .492 and OBP of .425. XU is averaging 9.5 rpg during the stretch.
The Power of Hayden Field
In just four home games at Xavier's home field, Hayden Field, the Musketeers are hitting the laces off of the ball. As a team, XU is hitting .412 with a slugging percentage of .570 and OBP of .466. Xavier is averaging 10.8 rpg at Hayden, while hitting four home runs, 12 doubles and a triple.
Ten Musketeers have played in at least 10 games and are hitting over .300: Jake Forrester (.417), Mark Elwell (.392), Selby Chidemo (.375), Brian Bruening (.364), Joe Forney (.343), Daniel Rizzie (.333), Tres Eberhardt (.333), Seth Dawes (.333), Vinny Nittoli (.315) and Derek Hasenbeck (.306).
What A Great "Pal"igraf
Patrick Paligraf has been on a tear this week, putting up eight RBIs in XU's games against Ohio and No. 17/16 Indiana. Paligraf drove in six RBIs on a pair of bases-loaded hits in the second and third innings at OU and followed with three hits and two RBIs at home against the nationally-ranked Hoosiers. Paligraf went 5-for-10 at the plate with three doubles. He leads XU and ranks second in the A-10 with 25 RBIs.
